Brian Neenan, Superintendent From: Brian Freeman, Assistant Superintendent for Business Re: Food Service Pricing 2024-25 Cc: Board of Education Date: 6/29/2024 In January of 2023, the SED Child Nutrition Program Office reviewed our financial information that was reported on the fall ST-3 state report. SED determined that the food service account is in excess of the three months average expenditures allowed by federal regulations for the 2021-22 fiscal year. In addition the district was cited again in January of 2024 by the Child Nutrition Office for the 2022-23 fiscal year. As part of the district’s SED approved plan to reduce the excess fund balance, the school food service program will lock all breakfast and lunch prices at the same rate for two years. The current pricing is listed below and it is recommended that this pricing structure remain and be adopted at the same levels for 2024-25: Elementary: $2.90 (lunch) $1.75 (breakfast) Middle: $3.00 (lunch) $2.00 (breakfast) High School: $3.00 (lunch) $2.00 (breakfast) Based on current information available this will put the district below the county average in pricing for both breakfast and lunch.
