Brian Neenan, Superintendent From: Brian Freeman, Assistant Superintendent for Business Re: Phase II Continuation- Willink & Schroeder Capital Project Bid Acceptance Cc: Board of Education Date: 6/3/2025 Below are the results of the Low Voltage Contract bids for upcoming work at Willink Middle School and Webster Schroeder High School. This contract includes the installation of fiber optic cable and related electrical work to support the Willink OWL expansion. Additionally, fiber optic cable installation is being incorporated into the Schroeder parking lot project, connecting the building to the light poles while the ground is open for other site work. Although this type of work is commonly procured through cooperative purchasing agreements or state contracts, the project team opted for a public bid process after determining it would likely result in more competitive pricing. Bids were publicly opened on May 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Buildings and Grounds Warehouse. The bid results came in line with the project’s budgeted estimates. There were no alternates included as part of this bid package. The contractors who submitted bids are listed below, with the lowest responsible bidder highlighted:

Contractor

Bid

R-Options, Inc.

$436,000

Working Knowledge Cabling & Communication

$142,300

Kaplan-Schmidt Electric, Inc.

Based on the recommendation of the project team, the contractor references, and the contractor’s previously completed projects, it is the recommendation of the construction team to accept the above-mentioned entity Working Knowledge as the lowest responsible bidder for the Low Voltage Contract. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you.
