Fiscal Year

Treasurer's Report

For the Month Ending

May 31, 2025

Prepared By

Lori Schreiber, Treasurer Brian Freeman, Assistant Superintendent for Business

Proud.

Executive Summary Revenues:

e

The first quarter (county) and our 3rd installment of sales tax arrived and is slightly higher than last year at this time.

e

State aid payment is second to last of the fiscal year.

e@

Larger refund due to a bus accident and its value being replaced.

e@

School lunch revenues exceeded last May by a small amount.

e

Federal fund revenue is limited to Continuing Education program registrations.

Appropriations:

e

General fund spending in May is trending higher for two reasons. oO

BOCES billing for Contract Transportation was behind by several months

o

Transfers to Federal fund for summer program and capital work were

completed this month @

School lunch expenditures remained consistent with typical May evels.

e@

Capital project spending for the $85 million initiative focused on planning for upcoming phases, including extensive surveying and engineering work for the Spry and Thomas project areas.

Some mall payments have been made for HVAC

prep work on the Willink addition.

@

Most federal grants have been expended; current activity is limited to minor contractual expenditures and adjustments, with ongoing spending primarily in WonderCare and Continuing Education programs.

Cash Flow:

Cash flow increased as we had revenues outpace expenditures. We continue to strategically use cash on hand to maximize interest earnings.

Projections indicate strong cash flow through the end of the fiscal year. Current cash flow remains higher than the same period last year.

A temporary negative cash flow in the federal fund is due to check clearance timing.

Miscellaneous/ Investments:

Investments are currently distributed across six banks, with interest rates ranging from 4.15% at the low end to 5.30% at the high end. Investment decisions are guided by ongoing cash flow analytics, helping to optimize both amount and duration. Current analytics support increased investment activity as rates have held steady

over the last quarter.
