At a regular meeting of the Webster Town Board of the Town of Webster, Monroe County, New
York, held at the Town Board Meeting Room, 1002 Ridge Road, in the Town of Webster, New
York on the 6th day of August 2026, at 7:30 p.m., there were present:
Supervisor Alexander B. Scialdone
Councilman John J. Cahill
Councilwoman Jennifer S. Wright
Councilman Nicholas E. Hunter
Councilman Garrett J. Wagner
Resolution No. ___: MOTION by ___, seconded by ___, to authorize and establish the position
of Temporary Board of Assessment Review Member with a one-year term beginning October 1,
2026 and ending September 30, 2027 to support the 2027 Revaluation Project.
WHEREAS, the Town Board recognizes the increased workload anticipated during the 2027
Revaluation Project and finds it necessary to appoint Temporary Board of Assessment Review
(BAR) Members as authorized under Real Property Tax Law (RPTL) Section 523-A; and
WHEREAS, RPTL Section 523-A allows temporary members to be appointed for one-year
terms and requires such members to meet the same qualifications, training, and disclosure
requirements as regular BAR members, including receipt of a certificate of attendance for the
required training course within twelve months before hearing complaints.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:
That the Town Board of the Town of Webster hereby establishes the positions of Temporary
Board of Assessment Review Member to be added to the 2026 and 2027 list of Authorized
Positions for a one-year term commencing October 1, 2026 and ending September 30, 2027; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
That the number of Temporary Board of Assessment Review Members appointed shall not
exceed the maximum number permitted under Real Property Tax Law 523-A, that all temporary
members shall meet the required qualifications, training, and disclosure standards before
participating in hearings, and that compensation for such members, shall be authorized as the
same rate of pay as regular Board of Assessment Review Members.
