Brian Neenan,Superintendent From: Brian Freeman, Assistant Superintendent for Business Re: 2022-23 Technology Lease Approval Cc: Board of Education Attached you will find the resolution to approve a new technology lease for the district. Six years ago the district utilized its NYS approved SmartBond allocation to purchase wireless access points, switches, and connectivity cabling. This lease will upgrade and modernize the access points that are now beyond their expected lifecycle. The lease will replace about 1300 access points along with the infrastructure needed to increase connectivity. The project should take approximately six months to complete with our partners through BOCES. In addition, some additional upgrades to our Day Automation systems will also be included in the lease. The lease will be for three years and will be handled through our partners at Monroe 1 BOCES to maximize our state aid for the program. The terms and conditions are attached for your information as well. The total cost becomes aidable for the district on a year to year basis. The total cost for the purchase is $1,933,009.71. That cost will be divided over the 3 year term for $644,336.57 per year. Unfortunately, the SmartBond purchases were not able to keep pace with the technological improvements as we had originally hoped for. In order to maintain the most efficient and ideal learning environment it is necessary to begin these improvements. The three year cycle for infrastructure improvements will also help us pivot to any technological changes that come down the road. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask. Thank you.
