Board Report

4.14.2026

What is TIG? From the TIG Consortium eBook (2025) “TIG began as the Consortium on Trauma, Illness and Grief in school in Monroe County, New York in 2001. Over the past 25 years, Coordinated Care Services, Inc. (CCSI), and partners have grown and evolved TIG.

What is TIG? Today, there are seven regions in New York and Wisconsin with active TIG Crisis Response Networks.

What is TIG? TIG is both a training program and a model. TIG equips local teams with the knowledge, skills and regional support they need to effectively respond to crises and meet the holistic needs of students and staff. The vision of TIG is to increase schools' ability to support students, staff and community and to strengthen individual and collective resilience.”

TIG in Webster CSD From the Webster CSD TIG Manual “The primary purpose of crisis response is to help students and staff cope with painful emotions and feelings resulting from a school or community related crisis. Our goal is to assist students and staff, in a culturally responsive manner, to return to normal routines as quickly and calmly as possible following a disruption of the educational process.

TIG in Webster CSD The following procedures outline the steps that Webster Central School District will implement in the event of a crisis. It should be stressed, however, that each situation presents facts and concerns unique to that case or event. These must be taken into consideration and adjustments to plans should be made accordingly. Throughout this process, sensitivity to the wishes of the family/families involved will be a primary concern.”
