All change orders that are over $35,000 need Board of Education approval before being sent for approval at SED. This change order will address an unforeseen field condition at the Transportation Facility. The work will revolve around the following: Additional soil and material above and beyond what was initially planned for needed to be remediated and removed before the new parking area was completed. This additional work was requested by the contractor as an unforeseen field condition and agreed to be necessary by the construction team. The funds are available to perform this work through our construction contingency budget and the work falls within the voter approved scope of the project. The total contract amount for DiFiore will increase from $3,277,077 to $3,412,370. It is anticipated that the work will commence immediately and be completed this fall.
