The January 3, 2023 Workshop meeting of the Webster Board of Education was called to order by President J. Richardson at 6:01 p.m.at District Offices, 119 South Avenue, Webster, NY in the 2nd Floor Professional Development Center. There was a quorum. J. Birdsong-Ng motioned, L. Dioguardi seconded call the meeting to order. Vote: 6: Yes; 0: No; 1: Absent: (C. Barnabas). Long Range Financial Planning Workshop Assistant Superintendent Freeman gave an in-depth overview on each of Webster CSD's reserves including the purpose, targeted balance, background, and a five-year historical review. Adequately funded reserves are crucial and the district has maintained its AA rating. Discussion followed on enrollment, which is the basis for all facilities' planning, class size, catchment changes, etc. Enrollment history and projection were reviewed for elementary, middle, and secondary schools for each individual building. Data on movements to private/parochial, home school, and out of state moves were shared. The UPK expansion and OWL start-up and subsequent expansion led to a conversation about how space and classrooms are fully utilized. Mr. Freeman also reviewed tax cap projections through 2028. ADJOURNMENT J. Birdsong-Ng motioned, C. Roods seconded to adjourn the meeting. The Workshop adjourned at 7:32p.m. Vote: 6: Yes; 0: No; 1: Absent: (C. Barnabas).
