Mr. Bolan passed away on 7/4/22 after retirement from the district in 2000. In accordance with Regulation 4180 – Health Insurance Participation, the immediate family of deceased employees are eligible to continue medical and dental insurance coverage at their own expense, providing premium payments are made to the Benefits Office before they become due. Membership shall not extend beyond a 12-month period unless individually approved by the Board of Education. In discussions with Mrs. Bolan, she agrees to continue the insurance coverage with the district and to pay the full monthly premium charge for the medical benefit, in accordance with Regulation 4180. The current monthly cost for MVP Gold is $316.19. I would recommend that she be approved to continue in our medical plan, as group coverage represents a significant cost savings when compared with the same plan billed to her directly.
