Brian Neenan, Superintendent From: Brian Freeman, Assistant Superintendent for Business Re: Appointment of Internal Auditor Cc: Board of Education Date: 6/23/2023 If you may recall, Bonadio & Co. took over halfway through the internal audit engagement period for Hungerford Vinton LLC who notified the district they were no longer performing public audits effective at the end of July 2021. As normal now, The Monroe county districts have performed the Request for Proposal process engaging several firms to submit proposals for a 4 year term from 2024-28 for internal audit services. Two firms responded, Bonadio & Co. LLP and Freed Maxick. Both groups were interviewed and supplied further information to the district that was requested. Reference checks to other districts that both firms have performed audits for were completed as well. At the conclusion of the process, I am extremely delighted to recommend Bonadio & Co. LLP for appointment to the position of Internal Auditors beginning on July 1, 2024. Bonadio’s engagement, interview answers, depth of work and knowledge with the district and pricing separated themselves during the process.
