Webster Town Board

Monica Gorlick, a Webster resident, thanked the Board for their many years of service,

expressed appreciation for everyone’s work, and acknowledged that Alex Scialdone campaigned

hard for Webster and his constituents. Ms. Gorlick offered a sincere thank you to everyone

involved.

Christopher Nacca, a Webster resident, explained that he usually discusses local economic

issues, he is deeply concerned about recent assisted-suicide laws. Mr. Nacca warned that while

such laws currently apply to terminal illness, experiences in other countries show they could

expand to include mental health issues, which Mr. Nacca finds frightening given his own longterm life struggles with suicidal thoughts. He argued that this could lead to dehumanization,

politicization, and harmful consequences for families and society. Mr. Nacca urges people to

look beyond headlines, learn from other countries’ experiences, and approach the issue with

caution, humility, and respect for the full complexity of life and suffering.

Alex Scialdone, a Webster resident and Town Supervisor elect, thanked the Board members for

their services, noting it is his last chance to speak as a member of the public and the Open Space

Committee. He expressed gratitude to Patti, Ginny, and Tom for their support and work. Mr.

Scialdone presented t-shirts from the Open Space Committee as a small token of appreciation

and said it has been an honor campaigning alongside them. He again thanked them for their

services and expressed hope that he can live up to what they have accomplished.

Mark Johns, a Webster resident and Monroe County Legislator, congratulated Patti, Tom and

Ginny for their years of service to the community. He specifically congratulated and honored

Councilwoman Ginny Nguyen for her four years of service, highlighting her historic role as the

first Asian-born American elected in Monroe County. Mr. Johns shares her family’s refugee

story from Vietnam after the fall of Saigon, emphasizing their escape, gratitude for America, and

strong commitment to American values. He notes Ginny’s deep involvement in the community,

her strong work ethic, her family’s service to our county and professional achievements, and her

nonpartisan, people-focused approach to local government. He concluded by thanking her for

her services and affirming that she will remain an active part of the community.

Peter Elder, a Village of Webster resident, and Republican Committee Leader, delivered a

tribute to the three departing Board members- Tom, Ginny, and Patti. He praised their character,

dedication, and service to the Town. He highlighted Tom’s fearlessness in tracking difficult

infrastructure projects and his transparency in educating the public. He praised Ginny’s role as a

tireless community ambassador who advocates for Webster locally and in Albany. He praised

Patti’s long-standing dedication, knowledge, and impact through years of hard campaign and

governance work in both the Village and the Town. Speaking from personal experience working

closely with all three, Mr. Elder expressed deep admiration for their leadership, collaboration,

and commitment, concluding that Webster could not have had three finer public servants and

offered congratulations and thanks on behalf of himself and the Webster Republican Committee.

Diana Davis, a Webster resident, spoke off the cuff to honor the departing Board members. She

recalled first meeting Patti and how Patti had guided her in learning about Webster’s

preservation efforts, describing her as a wise and informative force for good, whose service she

would miss. She then addressed Tom, acknowledging their occasional disagreements, but

praising his dedication, thoroughness, and careful consideration of issues, noting that his efforts

had greatly advanced open space initiatives. Finally, she recognized Ginny, recalling their first

conversation about open space and admiring her deep love for and dedication to Webster, as well

as her consistent presence and commitment to the community. Ms. Davis concluded by

expressing gratitude to all three for their service and presented small gifts as a token of

appreciation.

about $70,000, and the extension would cover January 1, 2026 through the issuance of the

Certificate of Occupancy or December, 31, 2026, not to exceed $138,000.00.

Supervisor Flaherty explained the reasoning for outsourcing work to Campus, noting the

complexity of the 800,000 square-foot fairlife facility and the fluctuating demands on the

Department of Public Works (DPW) staff. He also discussed the Town’s organizational

structure, highlighting that they had not had a DPW Commissioner since 2020, and

recommended that even with a future DPW Commissioner, outsourcing large projects would

remain necessary. The following Resolution was offered.
