§ 257-24 Chapter 257 Sewers

Connection to new public sewers required.

View on eCode

At such time as a public sewer becomes available to a property, a direct connection shall be made to the public sewer, in compliance with this chapter, if the privately owned cesspool, septic tank, and similar wastewater disposal facilities are not operating correctly. It is required that the property be connected to the publicly owned sewer system at the owner's expense. Once the public sewer becomes available, the owner of the privately owned sewage system can only maintain the system but not make any repairs. If repairs are required, the owner will have 90 days to connect to the Town's public sewer system.
